About The Firm

Since 1926

Payne & Jones has been providing a full range of business and legal services to our clients for generations. We emphasize prompt, effective, and practical responses to our clients’ changing day-to-day needs. Our approach to problem-solving emphasizes flexibility, which allows us to seek and provide client-specific solutions efficiently in a cost-effective manner.

Our clients who have worked with other firms have found this approach unique for the legal field, and we are confident this ability to respond to legal needs in a more practical manner is one of the primary reasons we look forward to celebrating the firm’s 100th year serving individuals and businesses across the region. Whether your legal needs involve Adoption or Zoning, or anything in between, the attorneys at Payne & Jones have the expertise and experience you require and can provide the legal services that you need.

Community Involvement

Payne & Jones, our attorneys and our staff pride ourselves on the activities that we have undertaken for the benefit of our community and those who are less fortunate. Each year, Payne & Jones participates in projects such as Habitat for Humanity, holiday time adopt-a-family, fundraisers for the Leukemia Society, Christmas in October, Muscular Dystrophy, CASA, the Kidney Foundation, the American Cancer Society, Kansas Summer Legal Internship Program (sponsored by the KBA Diversity Committee), Harvesters, the Johnson County Bar Foundation Charity Stampede, youth sports activities, disaster relief programs and Safe Home. Our attorneys and staff serve as volunteers and coaches for youth sports teams, parent-teacher associations and a wide variety of booster clubs for extracurricular activities. Many of the attorneys serve on the boards of directors for charitable organizations such as the National Kidney Foundation, the Sasone Program for Special Needs Children, Kansas City Repertory Theater and Animal Haven. Last, but certainly not least, for more than a quarter century, Payne & Jones has maintained its own charitable foundation, through which it supports a myriad of activities and organizations within our community. The programs and organizations that have benefited from our gifts include the University of Kansas School of Law, the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired, Operation Breakthrough, KVC Behavioral Healthcare, Children’s Therapy Group Foundation, Safe Home, Harvesters, City Union Mission and the Kansas Regional Ballet. We are proud of our accomplishments as we strive to give back to the community, help those less fortunate then ourselves and attempt each day to leave the world a better place.

Payne & Jones . . . giving back to the community.
