Tyler Peters is a principal in the firm, having practiced in our litigation group since joining the firm in 1991. His experience includes statewide representation of publicly traded telecommunications company; extensive owner, general contractor, subcontractor and engineer representation in all aspects of commercial, residential and governmental construction claims; real estate development, foreclosure and other property right litigation; business dissolution and employment dispute litigation, including extensive corporate enforcement and avoidance of non-compete/ non-disclosure agreements; wrongful death and other personal injury claims; insurance coverage dispute actions; CERCLA litigation; and securities litigation.
Tyler is admitted to practice before the federal and state bars in Kansas and Missouri. He has also litigated in various state and federal courts around the country on a visiting basis. He is a member of the Johnson County, Kansas and American Bar Associations and was also was selected to participate as an associate in the inaugural Kansas Inns of Court Program.
As a lifelong area resident, he attended Rockhurst High School and then moved on to the University of Kansas where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with honors, in 1988. Tyler received his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in May 1991, where he was a member of both the Law Review and Urban Lawyer Publication staffs.
